Application of Cudrania tricuspidata leaf extract as a washing agent to inactivate Listeria monocytogenes on fresh-cut romaine lettuce and kale

The present study aimed to examine the antimicrobial activity of silkworm thorn (Cudrania tricuspidata) leaf extract (CTLE) and its application as a washing agent for fresh-cut romaine lettuce and kale. The antimicrobial activities of CTLE at various concentrations against Listeria monocytogenes were determined using disc diffusion and viable cell count assays, and CTLE exhibited strong inactivation of L. monocytogenes. In particular, after the treatment with 0.4% CTLE, the protein content of L. monocytogenes cells was significantly (P < 0.05) decreased from 507.21 to 254.58 μg mL⁻¹, and damaged cells were observed by scanning electron microscopy. CTLE washing resulted in approximately 2-log reduction of microbial growth, similar to that of 0.01% NaOCl. In addition, CTLE washing did not affect the quality of romaine lettuce and kale. Therefore, these results suggest that CTLE is applicable as a new washing agent for inactivating L. monocytogenes on fresh-cut romaine lettuce and kale.     

深部元素地气迁移的分量化探证据：以郴州金狮岭铀多金属矿床为例

以地气理论为基础的分量化探技术被广泛应用于深部隐伏矿床勘查。深部矿体信息随地气迁移到地表形成叠加异常，分量化探技术可用于采集分析这部分信息来推测深部矿体的赋存状态。以位于湖南省郴州市的金狮岭铀多金属矿床为研究对象，在早期钻探工作、伽马能谱和氡浓度测量成果的基础上，利用分量化探技术探求深部元素地气迁移的证据，为进一步寻找深部隐伏矿床提供理论基础。在该矿区选定了氡浓度异常明显的3条采样线，对采自深度为40~60 cm的浅层土壤147件样品中的U、Pb、Zn等20个元素进行了分量提取和ICP-MS分析，并对分析数据进行了U分量异常特征分析、相关分析、聚类分析，U分量异常地质综合剖面分析以及土壤U分量与伽马能谱U含量的对比分析解译。结果表明：①区内3#、8#测线U分量异常明显，最大值分别为2 194 ng/g和2 167 ng/g，异常衬度值分别为1.298和1.403，区内具有良好的铀矿找矿潜力；②与U分量密切相关的元素为Nd、Sm、Ta，相关系数分别达到0.465，0.492和0.491，远高于99%置信度的临界值0.217，显示其随着地气迁移过程中与U密切相关；③U分量异常主要与深部隐伏矿体、断裂破碎带有关，U分量曲线与Nd、Sm、Ta分量曲线高度吻合，U、Nd、Sm、Ta分量异常组合可作为该区指示深部铀矿体的地球化学标志。     

全尾砂和废石联合胶结充填体最佳配比及应用

针对红岭铅锌矿分级充填骨料来源不足、地表废石堆积污染环境的情况,提出将该矿选厂产生的全尾砂和地表废石作为充填骨料的联合胶结充填方案。分别测试了全尾砂和地表废石的物理化学性质,验证了碎石和全尾砂作为联合充填骨料的可行性。通过充填配比试验,分析了不同配比全尾砂废石充填体强度特性,得出了最佳充填配比。结果表明,充填试块的强度随灰砂比减小而减小,随养护龄期增加呈增大趋势,随充填料浆质量浓度增大而增大,最佳配比为: 胶结充填灰砂比1∶8、普通充填灰砂比1∶12,全尾砂∶废石配比4∶6,质量浓度78%。根据研究结果,在红岭铅锌矿进行了全尾砂废石充填技术工业应用,证实该技术可行。

Decorating surface charge of graphite nanoplate using an electrostatic coupling agent for 3-dimensional polymer nanocomposite

Here, we report a facile approach to electrostatically couple the surface charges of graphite nanoplate (GNP) fillers and poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) polymer particles using ethylene maleic anhydride (EMA) copolymer as an electrostatic coupling agent. Our strategy involved switching the intrinsic repulsive electrostatic interactions between the directly exfoliated GNPs fillers and the PMMA particles to attractive electrostatic surface interactions for preparing core(PMMA)-shell (GNP) precursor in order to optimizing 3-dimensionally dispersed polymer nanocomposite. As a result, the electrical conductivity of the composites dramatically increased by a factor of 16.7 in the EMA-coupled GNP/PMMA composites compared with that of the EMA-free GNP/PMMA composites. In addition, the percolation threshold was also notably reduced from 0.32 to 0.159 vol% after electrostatic coupling of the GNPs fillers and PMMA particles. © 2019 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Appl.
